Social network for the Qabila's relatives to participate and interact through it
Qabilat Shabab is a unique social network that seeks to promote effective collective action on the ground. In addition to enabling its members to communicate and learn about each other, what distinguishes Qabilat Shabab is that it provides influential and active individuals within a particular geographical space with the opportunity to communicate and collaborate on joint efforts that serve to improve their local communities. As its name reflects, Qabilat Shabab’s rules are inspired by the genuine Yemeni and Arab tribal customs and values which calls for solidarity, courage, devotion, and generosity. To join in, members need to create a Faseel, which is the smallest cluster in the network. Each Faseel consists of five individuals including the Faseel’s leader. Each Faseel strives to extend support and assistance to the members of its local community by inventing projects and initiatives and to ensure the persistence of the teams’ efforts and to encourage outstanding initiatives, Qabilat Shabab offers a system of Maroof. Maroof is a unit of value that justly quantifies the efforts spent by each individual to assist a fellow member or to ensure the success of a particular initiative of the network. To verify the execution of an activity and the degree of its success, Qabilat Shabab has created a system of evaluation to approve the award of Maroof produced by the execution of a particular activity. The evaluation system consists of local referees who lives within the same geographical area as where the activities take place. The evaluation process is intended to help with the accomplishment of activities agreed upon by the members within the specified time at the start of the activity. It also aims to limit any attempts to rig the amount of Maroof product by any activity. Qabilat Shabab distinguishes the Faseels with the highest levels of Maroof with a number of privileges and provides the members with the highest Maroof with higher opportunities for leadership and for managing activities at a larger scale with their governorate or at the national level.
